Our Equine Partners

Promise

A bay “off the track” thoroughbred with a heart of gold, Promise’s favorite activity is licking client hands. A matron on the farm, she’s gentle with children and loves to be groomed, petted and fed soft peppermints. She still remembers the days when she was left to starve in a field, so she’s extra appreciative of attention and love today. Don’t let that gentle spirit fool you, however! She definitely remembers her days on the race track. Running barrels is her jam!

Cooper

Cooper is an AQHA quarter horse with a long history of helping students of all sorts learn the ropes around the arena! Once used as a hunter/jumper instructor, Cooper rides both Western and English and was also previously used as a breeder due to his impressive pedigree. An older gentleman now, he is slowing down and loving his second career as a therapeutic partner on our farm. His favorite activity is eating…as much as he can, whenever he can, and wherever he can!

Justice

Justice is a nine year old grey “off the track” thoroughbred. He’s a looker with that lovely white coat, which is usually stained a lovely Carolina orange from rolling in the dirt! His favorite activities include following Promise wherever she goes, letting folks feed and brush on him, or letting the little ones paint him rainbow colors at camp. Justice loves a good, slow pony ride around the arena, but for now saves his lesson hours for more experienced students. He’s a bit of a dorky boy, so he’s still learning the ropes!

Sky

Named for her beautiful blue eyes, Sky (or Sky-Pony) is a lovely, gentle 7 year old paint. Previously owned by a five year old, Sky is extremely well suited to teaching youngsters. Born with an old soul but still young enough to learn new tricks, Sky is a once in a lifetime pony! She’s as content to walk slowly around with a child as she is to jump fences with an experienced rider. Her favorite activity is to be petted on the side of her neck or between her ears. No noses, please! A bad sunburn as a filly made her nose a wee bit sensitive.

Our Special Guest

Cisco

Joining us for the summer is Cisco. Cisco is an experienced and flexible 15 year old paint/draft cross who has a beautiful canter and years of experience as an instructor. He is a lovely gelding who hails from a hobby farm in Charlotte and enjoys helping with lessons, camps, trail rides and mini shows! Cisco is a old soul with the patience of a saint, even with our baby goat! Help him feel welcome! (Carrots are appreciated!)
